O’Brien’s are manufacturers of traditional cooked hams and other meat products and have decided to embark on a doubling in size of their facility in Timahoe, Co. Kildare. The existing site had seen several expansions over the years and the new extension would significantly change the site layout again. In order to make this happen the existing boiler, substation, generator, gas pad and oil tanks required relocation without impact to plant operations. The main plant M&E systems included, mains water, well water, hot water distribution systems, fire water, air handling, vacuum systems, compressed air, power distribution, fire alarm, emergency lighting, security systems, etc.
Integrating client’s production equipment formed part of the scope as well as working with the refrigeration contractor to deliver an overall solution that meets the high standards expected by the downstream customers. The project also includes refurbishments within the existing plant to be completed when the extended facility is up and running.
