Conor Carr

MSc, BEng (Hons) | Senior Electrical Engineer

My passion for Electrical Engineering led me to an apprenticeship with one of Ireland’s largest electrical sub-contractors in 2009. Their speciality in large scale electrical developments in Ireland combined with my networking abilities formed a mutually beneficial relationship. After completing 5 years in the electrical trade and gaining my qualifications, I followed my engineering passion and returned to university to complete a degree in Electrical Services Design.

During my studies in Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) I was approached by RED to undertake a career in the building service industry as a graduate electrical engineer on their data centre projects across Europe. Since starting with RED in 2015 I have worked in a number of sectors throughout Europe and other parts of the world. My duties include detailed design of electrical services, project management, site surveys, and business developments.

During my time with RED they have given me the opportunity and support to complete a master’s degree in Building Services Engineering where I attended London South Bank University once a week for 2.5 years. My following goal moving forward is to become a chartered engineer which RED have provided the stepping stones for me to fulfil this goal by giving me the experience required with opportunities to onsite engineering experience along with continual CPD training on a wide range of building services topics.

As RED is an ever-growing company I look forward to continuing my passion for electrical engineering with them and to see where our combined goals will lead to in the future.
