Department of Defence Award

The Department of Defence has awarded Callaghan Engineering the Mechanical & Electrical services design of a new administration building at the Curragh Camp.

Callaghan Engineering recently completed work for the Department of Defence on the Gymnasium at Aiken Barracks in Dundalk, Co. Louth (home to the 67 Reserve Infantry Battallion of the Defence Forces). As part of that project, we carried out an energy audit and identified savings of up to 40% in some areas. Key features of the design included variable air volume ventilation in the Gym based on occupancy, lighting control including the provision of daylight & presence sensors, and the provision of high level radiant panels in the sports hall.

Callaghan Engineering has a previous track record of delivering successful projects for the Department, including the recent gymnasium & sports hall project, and we are pleased to have been awarded the contract for the design of this new facility. Design on this new project is due to commence shortly.
